Celebrating Heritage and Innovation: Highlights from JWS Abu Dhabi 2024

Jewellery & Watch Show (JWS) Abu Dhabi 2024 wrapped up on November 17, leaving attendees in awe of the craftsmanship and creativity showcased throughout the event. Held at the iconic ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, this year’s show brought together Emirati designers and international brands, weaving a tapestry of heritage, innovation, and luxury.

From November 13 to 17, JWS Abu Dhabi 2024 offered visitors a chance to explore stunning jewellery collections, uncover exclusive designs, and meet the brilliant minds behind these masterpieces. At its heart, the show celebrated the UAE's vibrant culture and ability to merge tradition with modernity.

A Platform for Emirati Talent

Founded by sisters Muhra and Shamsa Alblooshi, Azl Jewels embodies timeless elegance inspired by history. Muhra Alblooshi, an art historian, described their work as “pieces that look beautiful and hold stories within them.” With a passion for preserving tradition, Azl Jewels uses natural gemstones and meticulous craftsmanship to create designs reminiscent of ancient royalty.

At JWS 2024, Azl Jewels unveiled a stunning collection of rings and earrings featuring Burmese rubies and diamonds, perfect for those who appreciate detailed craftsmanship and classic beauty.

MAS Jewels: Bridging Heritage and Modernity

Dubai-based designer Noura Alsarraj infused Middle Eastern culture with contemporary elegance through MAS Jewels. Reflecting on her designs, Noura said, “We’ve taken elements from nature and our heritage to create bold yet timeless pieces. Each piece is designed to make a statement, to be cherished, and to resonate with the wearer.”

Their collection this year drew inspiration from natural landscapes and cultural motifs, featuring statement necklaces, bold rings, and earrings crafted with rare gemstones.

The event also highlighted the extraordinary work of Harf w Naqsh Jewellery, Masah Jewellery, and Signature Jewellery, each contributing to the narrative of Emirati craftsmanship. Their showcased designs ranged from innovative contemporary creations to timeless classics, offering something for every jewellery aficionado.

A Global Stage for Creativity and Culture

Over three decades, the JWS Abu Dhabi has become a key event in the region’s luxury market. This year was no exception, with exhibitors from around the world joining Emirati designers to present cutting-edge designs and timeless pieces.

May Ismail, Event Manager at RX-ME, praised the talent on display, stating, “At Jewellery & Watch Show Abu Dhabi, we don’t only celebrate craftsmanship but also foster innovation and nurture the UAE’s rich cultural legacy. We are thrilled to witness these exceptional designers pay tribute to traditions while embracing contemporary designs.”

From exclusive collections to interactive opportunities with designers, JWS 2024 offered something for everyone. Visitors left with not just jewellery and watches but stories of artistry, heritage, and inspiration. While this year’s edition has come to a close, the Jewellery & Watch Show Abu Dhabi continues to solidify its place as a premier destination for jewellery lovers, collectors, and those who appreciate the timeless beauty of high-quality craftsmanship.

As we look forward to future editions, one thing is clear: the UAE’s jewellery industry is poised for continued growth, with talented designers pushing boundaries and honouring tradition in equal measure.
